Learning to read is an exciting time in the life of a child. As parents and teachers, we know there are many ways we can help students as they gain the skills to crack the code of written language. Books for beginning readers, called readers or early readers, usually feature a limited vocabulary, short sentences, rhyming words, and repetition to help encourage the child’s emerging skills.

Word families (also called rimes or phonograms) offer a fun and easy way for children to become comfortable with reading. They include common combinations of vowels and consonants such as AT, IG, and OP.

This little book contains short, delightful stories for 40 distinct word families, arranged alphabetically and beautifully illustrated. Each story features a specific combination of letters, introducing a number of simple three- and four-letter words for your student to copy and practice.
