Course description
In this full-year course, students explore a wide range of artistic mediums and styles to build a strong foundation in visual expression. Through hands-on projects such as collage, typography, symbolic portraiture, graphic design, and 3D modeling, learners build creative and technical skills while connecting art to personal identity, history, and the world around them. The course culminates in a capstone project where students create an original zine series about a topic of their choice.

Integrated Drawing or Drawing and Design (or previous art experience)

A wide variety of drawing, painting, and collage materials are used throughout the course, which are listed at the beginning of each lesson as well as in the appendix.
