Course Description
In this prealgebra course, students will develop the skills and understanding to prepare them for Algebra 1. They will practice skills using self-corrected exercise sets in preparation for chapter tests that gauge their grasp of the material. Activities provide varied opportunities to explore applications of the lesson concepts.

- Exponents and order of operations
- Simplifying algebraic expressions
- Factoring
- Least common denominator and equivalent fractions
- Ratios and proportions
- Congruent and similar triangles
- Percents, decimals, and fractions
- Pictographs, bar graphs, histograms, line graphs, and circle graphs
- Coordinate systems and paired data
- Graphing linear equations in two variables
- Probability
- Lines, angles, perimeter, area, volume, weight, and mass
- Conversions between the U.S. and metric systems
- Polynomials
This course is organized into 36 lessons that correspond with the 10 chapters in the textbook.

The textbook is accompanied by an online resource called MyMathLab (MML) that contains many helpful tools, such as instructional videos, chapter test prep videos, a detailed solution manual, and the digital textbook. MyMathLab is available for individual purchase for students using the course independently. (It is not included with the bookstore textbook or coursebook purchase.)
