This literature package supports the reading material needed for our single-semester course Science Fiction & Fantasy. This course explores the genres of science fiction and fantasy and looks at themes of identity, gender, race, social structures, and survival. Students examine how authors create fictional story worlds by using tools such as narrative structure, setting details, character development, tone, and perspective. Students then apply various writing skills and techniques to create a work of fiction that features their own detailed, believable story world.
